Swiss power and automation group ABB leads the market with a market share of 20%, followed by German inverter manufacturer Aisima Solar Technology with a market share of approximately 15%. To date, ABB has supplied a total of 5 GW of PV inverters in the Indian market, while Axma has delivered more than 3 GW. The remaining major suppliers are Toshiba Mitsubishi Electric Industrial Systems, China Chint, France Schneider Electric, and Hitachi, Japan. According to Mercom India Research's second quarter of 2017 solar energy market report for India, in the second quarter, ABB added more than 450 megawatts of PV inverter capacity, followed by Hitachi's new 300 MW, Aisima and China Chint respectively Added over 150 MW. Mercom India Research said that as the Indian solar market grows, more and more inverter manufacturers are gaining market share. Recently, Enphase Energy and SolarEdge Technologies have established offices in India. Based on Mercom's data, as of June 2017, India had 14.7 GW of PV capacity, including rooftop PV capacity.
